Introduction: Windows 10 is a great operating system, but it’s not perfect.

There are two ways to do it:

You can do it through the Windows Update or through the Settings app.

The first option is convenient, but if you want to keep your software up-to-date, you should use the second option.

To the human eye, there’s no reason why updating Windows 10 shouldn’t be as easy as updating a smartphone or laptop, right?

After all, Microsoft and its partners spend millions of dollars on advertising each year. If Microsoft could just put out an app that would let people update their operating system in minutes and without any fuss—that would be a sweet trick!

So why did Microsoft decide to go with a different approach? To get ahead of its competitors who were already doing this more effectively. But what exactly is stopping them? The answer is that they didn’t have enough code for the feature. So, you need to make this stuff happen yourself!

How to update Windows 10 manually:

This is the old way of doing things and it’s a little more complicated.

Most users install a windows operating system updates by using the Microsoft Update Assistant. It is a relatively simple tool to use and allows you to update windows 10 for free.

For Windows 10 computer users, the updates are widely available through the Microsoft Update Assistant.

You may also need to check with your device manufacturer if you have or have had any problems with updates. If you do have problems, then you should be able to contact your device manufacturer directly or reach out to your local technical support group.

The tool lets you download and install Windows 10 updates in three easy steps:

1. Download the Windows Update Assistant for Windows 10 (Windows 8/8.1) from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49706&selectedCommentId=1007216

2. Sign in using your Microsoft account (if required), and then click “Download now” on the left side of the screen

3. Accept all of the Terms & Conditions as they appear on screen, then click “Next.” A wizard should automatically open asking you to select which type of update you want to make available for download (updates are cumulative):

The most recent version is usually what’s best for most people, though some Windows 10 users might prefer an older version or even older versions of updates that are still available on Microsoft’s site:

After selecting an update type and downloading it, click “Next.” A progress bar should show that progress toward getting your update installed on your computer:

When installation gets close, it will ask if you want to allow access by anyone outside of your organization (this step doesn’t apply if you are an individual user) or if access would be limited only to people who know a password that matches a special set of characters in the password field (this step doesn’t apply if you are an individual user). You can either choose a setting that lets everyone in your organization read and write files on your computer this is probably best because it allows for greater security but also makes updating easier for others:  choose “Allow Everyone” , or choose a setting that requires only people who know a password that matches special characters in the password field (this allows only those who have been given permission):  choose “Only Those Who Know Password”. Click “Next”. When installation gets close, it will ask if there are any issues with installing this update – do not hesitate — click “Yes”.

How to update Windows 10 automatically:

With Microsoft’s Windows 10 release on July 29, 2015, the operating system was updated to version 1607. For a short time after the upgrade, Windows 10 users were told that they would receive updates to automatically through Windows Update over the next few weeks. After this update to Windows 10 was released, Microsoft updated its support page to say that:

“Starting with the Anniversary Update of Windows 10 (version 1607), you may need to manually download updates from our Software Update website. The links on your desktop will direct you to download your updates for Windows 10 and other supported versions.”

With an update like this, the update does not have the same impact as a major security patch. It is simply a list of fixes for known bugs and it does not affect any of the core functionality of the operating system nor does it have any impact on performance or stability.

Problems updating Windows 10: If you’re having trouble updating Windows 10, here are some possible solutions.

You can’t really do much to impact adoption rates of a new OS. However, you can do a lot to make the process easier and more enjoyable.

  • Run Windows Updates

Windows updates are a big deal. In fact, I’d argue that they are the most important part of your defense against malware and ransomware. Having never had to deal with them myself, I can’t say for sure if this is true or not. If you want to know if it is true or not, then read the Microsoft blog post here: How Windows 10 Updates Work .

The easiest way to avoid errors and crashes is obviously by installing updates regularly (usually every month or so) using the built-in automatic update feature in Windows 10. However, this alone will not solve all your problems. The next best thing is to install updates manually (using Windows Update) when prompted for them.

  • Use Group Policy Editor

If you want to take full advantage of all the available options in Group Policy Editor (GPE), then you should use it regularly as well as learn how to use it well. This is because GPE lets you control almost all aspects of your system from within your local machine rather than from your remote PC that must connect through a network connection or over the Internet (like most other software does). This means that GPE lets you set up multiple configurations for different scenarios — for example, business users might have different settings depending on whether they’re working on an internal PC or on one that’s connected over the Internet — and then apply these configurations as needed without having to worry about rebooting your computer which could cause issues with data loss and other problems that might otherwise be caused by software whose configuration cannot be easily adjusted via GPE itself (e.g., Microsoft Office software). Another advantage of using GPE is that it allows you to configure settings once and keep them in effect until restarting or rebooting — if any changes need be made later, they simply need only be moved into System Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Configure Automatic Updates.

  • Turn off Automatic Updates

This one isn’t very exciting, but it can make an important difference in non-critical situations where there isn’t much chance of getting any error messages in return for doing so (e.g., if you have no reason to suspect malware attacks). To stop automatic updates from running at start up, open Command Prompt via Start
